☼ Abrimel's Games: Round Robin Story Time! ☼
Abrimel says, "Once upon a time, there was a magical forest filled with even more magical creatures: chittering silver-hued squirrels, lumbering bears with gilt fur, foxes with bright emerald eyes, etc. Clearly, each had a unique trait that set them apart from ordinary creatures."
Abrimel says, "It was so magical that one might even say the flowers sang happy tunes while the animals frolicked within the wood, you know, doing what animals do."
Abrimel says, "It was peacful, set apart from the rest of the world, pure and untouched. That is, until..."
Kirer dramatically says, "But Hark! It was not peaceful for long."
Abrimel exclaims, "What happened?!"
Kirer slowly lifts his bull minotaur horn and blows one long mournful wail that rises and falls in intensity.
Kirer dramatically continues, "A low, mournful sound filled that very innocently untouched place." Kirer takes slow meancing steps around the group of storytellers, stopping to finish the rest of his act next to Noira. "The animals began to flee!"
Kirer raises an eyebrow in Noira's direction.
Noira looks thoughtfully at Kirer.
Speaking offhandedly to Noira, Kirer says, "Peaceful is boring."
Noira bends over her tome and begins writing with her quill. After a moment, she lifts her head and scans back over what she has written with a critical eye.
Noira shows Nicolao her onyx black tome.
Nicolao repeats, "The sounds of the animals beginning to panic filled the forest with an even louder noise, drowning out the sound of the horn. Animals began to trample one another in their haste to vacate that place that they called home, some of them carrying strange objects in their paws."
Noira leans on you, giving you a companionable grin.
You say, "A strange tree had begun to grow in the center of their once-calm forest, its trunk gnarled and misshapen as if something were struggling to emerge from within."
Abrimel frets.
Laelithonel stares off into space.
Eldanari bites her lip.
Laelithonel mumbles, "But didn'th'tree know it had t'flee?"
You say, "A dark liquid dripped from the leaves, resembling blood as it fell to the ground."
Laelithonel gawks at you.
You say, "And every animal too slow to flee the forest was tainted by the strange liquid."
Eldanari says, "Up...beat story in deed..."
Speaking to Varsric, Abrimel says, "Sounds like your type of story."
Speaking to Abrimel, Varsric says, "I like beating down."
Barzillia quietly says, "Alas, the shadow of a bulbous head could be seen bobbing from within the hollowed trunk."
Barzillia quietly says, "And bald as well."
Varsric recites:
"And then the scream pierced the night, sending the animals asunder
The scream was high and forceful, more striking than thunder
The blood on the ground fell around, and then..."
Laelithonel trembles as if a cold chill just ran up her spine.
Nicolao continues, "The bald, shrieking creature burst forth from the twisted tree and unfurled tattered wings that blocked out what little remained of the sun. It shrieked again, a horrific sound! All who heard it cowered, and those distant fleeing creatures who had remained untainted and carried away the treasures of the forest quailed in fear."
Augierose's face turns slightly pale.
Kirer slowly lifts his bull minotaur horn and blows one long mournful wail that rises and falls in intensity.
Nicolao says, "...and then we all wondered where Javell went."
Goldstr says, "With the noise of the screaming overpoweing all."
Goldstr says, "And the oozing blood spreading, seeping into more of the magical forest."
Goldstr says, "A golden light appeared at the forest's edge."
Eldanari says, "All the critters holding their trinkets does their best to reach the golden light."
Eldanari says, "The big baddie chases them, but something seems to be keeping it at bay each time it swoops down to grab a fuzzball it's batted away."
Laelithonel gasps.
Eldanari says, "One by one critters place the trinkets at what appears to be an entrance..."
Speaking to Laelithonel, Nicolao prompts, "Give us hope, Luminary."
Nicolao winks at Laelithonel.
Laelithonel says, "Low to th'ground near th'entrance three tiny mushrooms, all abandoned an'forgotten in th'flight of th'forest, trembled in quiet fear at th'horrors about 'em."
Laelithonel says, "Jus' as they were discussin' how legs would've been a great addition t'their spongy bodies, one of 'em spied a teensy dot in th'sky -jus' a reasonable arms length from where th'winged creature did his evil winged creature things..."
Laelithonel says, "Th'three tiny mushrooms oblivious now to th'golden light an'th'frenzy of th'animals, began t'shriek at a volume only fungal things an'likely moss can manage t'hear, as they realized th'teensy dot was growing larger by th'moment an'had friends chasin'fast behind it."
Augierose softly says, "The trinkets at the edge of the forest began to quake and shake."
Augierose softly says, "They began to roll and sway."
Augierose softly says, "A giant shadow moved in overhead....a giant, bald winged creature swooped down, down, down."
Augierose softly says, "The trinkets began to burst apart."
Augierose softly says, "Flakes falling off from one side and the other."
Augierose softly says, "Until..."
Augierose softly says, "You notice tiny little dragon heads peaking out under the mother's wings."
Abrimel exclaims, "Turns out, the light the mushrooms saw was the tiny baby dragons spurting little bursts of flame in excitement. They didn't know the winged mother was bad. They just thought they were having fun! Seeing how magical the forest kind of still was, though covered with ick and blood, they hopped down and roared at the winged thing, scaring it away!"
Noira laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Abrimel says, "The mushrooms chirped with glee, because magical mushrooms can totally do that. And the tiny ick-covered animals left in the forest rejoiced!"
Kirer can offer Abrimel only a blank expression.
Abrimel says, "However, outside of the forest where the magical creatures fled, another terror was brewing. The squirrels and bears with the magical gilt and silver fur were being chased by another horror...."
Abrimel says, "That's not exactly how I thought my magical forest would end up."
Abrimel folds his arms over his chest.
Speaking to Abrimel, Laelithonel says, "Ah thought it would be mo-"
Laelithonel squeals.
Laelithonel pulls on Silversoft, trying to get her closer.
You say, "I could've murdered all the animals outright."
Abrimel exclaims, "It was fun!"
Nicolao nods in agreement.
Kirer dramatically continues, "The horror! The poor baby dragons and the other animals! They could not escape!"
Nicolao cocks his head at Kirer.
Kirer throws back his head and roars with laughter!
Abrimel exclaims, "And we have somewhere to pick up from next time! The new horror!"
Kirer continues, "For there was an evil lurking in the brightest spots of the forest's floor..."
Kirer wiggles his fingers.
Kirer takes a few steps to his right.
Abrimel asks, "Was its name Varsric?"
Abrimel peers quizzically at Kirer.
Noira laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Kirer thunderously adds, "It was cupcakes! Evil, delicious looking cupcakes. The cupcakes looked so good because..."
Laelithonel says, "Even in th'brightest spots? Ah must kno-"
Laelithonel gets a blank look on her face.
Laelithonel's eyes light up and she trembles with excitement.
Nicolao appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.
Abrimel argues, "Cupcakes aren't evil!"
Speaking to Kirer, Abrimel says, "Tarts, maybe."
You say, "Deathcakes."
Abrimel says, "Oooh."
Abrimel agrees with you.
Speaking to Abrimel, Laelithonel says, "Ah love tarts. Ah don'like th'ones ya chase with a broom but ah like th'gooey ones."
Speaking amusedly to Abrimel, Kirer says, "Tarts are delicious. Especially when they wear nicely heeled shoes."
Speaking to himself, Nicolao mutters, "Tarts."
Varsric grins at Kirer.
Abrimel glances at his polished black boots.
Noira bends over her tome and begins writing with her quill. After a moment, she lifts her head and scans back over what she has written with a critical eye.
Noira shows Nicolao her onyx black tome.
(Abrimel stands up his tip-toes, mimicing shoes with heels.)
Nicolao snickers.
Nicolao clasps his hand over his mouth.
Nicolao repeats, "They were made with the hopes and dreams of small children, which are more desireable due to their purity. They crept in like a thief in the night, encroaching on picnics being had everywhere in the forest, bringing with them all manner of evil treasure seekers, for they had heard about these cupcakes and wanted them all to themselves. Until suddenly...."
Speaking dryly to Abrimel, Kirer says, "If only they were actually heeled, honey."
Laelithonel begins to giggle, then bursts out in a silly laugh.
Speaking sadly to Kirer, Abrimel says, "I know, love. I'll find some for you."
Kirer nods in agreement at Abrimel.
Noira glances between Abrimel and Kirer.
Laelithonel murmurs, "Children are for pond monster babies."
Speaking amusedly to Abrimel, Kirer suggests, "Any good plaything of mine needs good shoes."
You say, "Fortunately for the now-traumatized denizens of the forest, a luminous, shining hope had arrived to save them."
Nicolao raises an eyebrow in your direction.
Abrimel cocks his head at you.
Abrimel exclaims, "A handsome knight?!"
Varsric interrupts, "A lumberjask!"
You say, "Having heard of the evil yet delicious cupcakes, Laelithonel had immediately run to the forest where she promptly devoured each and every cupcake."
Laelithonel can offer you only a blank expression.
Nicolao snickers.
You say, "And then Laelithonel, being Laelithonel, sat down to take a long nap."
Noira bursts out in a sudden snort of laughter.
You twiddle your thumbs.
Laelithonel blushes a nice shade of pink.
Varsric grins at you.
Speaking to you, Varsric exclaims, "I can't follow that!"
Varsric exclaims, "Wait!"
Laelithonel squirms and fidgets oddly for a moment.
Varsric recites:
"And then the forest ate her. The end."
Laelithonel's eyes glaze over as she stares, unfocused, into the distance.
Nicolao snickers.
Nicolao nods approvingly at Varsric.
Abrimel laughs at Varsric!
Abrimel rubs Laelithonel tenderly.
Laelithonel grabs Noira by the arm and whimpers softly.
Varsric looks at you and hums.
Kirer applauds Varsric.
Speaking to Noira, Laelithonel whispers aloud, "Ah don'want t'be gobbled."
Speaking soothingly to Laelithonel, Nicolao says, "I'm sure you'll be reborn as a thousand dandelion puffs in due time."
Varsric gives Laelithonel a sidelong glance and curls his lips into a lascivious leer.
Noira makes a gobbling sound.
Speaking to Nicolao, Laelithonel asks, "Did Abrimel blow me off m'floofer stem?"
Noira bends over her tome and begins writing with her quill. After a moment, she lifts her head and scans back over what she has written with a critical eye.
Noira shows Laelithonel her onyx black tome.
Nicolao gives a sidelong glance at Abrimel.
Nicolao looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.
Nicolao nods at Laelithonel.
Laelithonel glances nervously at Varsric.
Abrimel exclaims, "Abrimel didn't do anything. Varsric did it all!"
Laelithonel fidgets, glancing at Noira.
Varsric ponders.
Noira points at Varsric and jeers. Boooooo!
Noira smirks.
Nicolao says, "I think that's a perfectly good ending to sit on. The next time we can figure out how Laeli comes back to us."
Nicolao winks at Laelithonel.
Laelithonel wails, "Ah was eaten!"
Abrimel says, "It was so magical that one might even say the flowers sang happy tunes while the animals frolicked within the wood, you know, doing what animals do."
